Asha born and brought in Singapore, is the great grand daughter of Mahakavi Vallathol ( the great Malayalam poet ). She
started learning Bharathanatyam at the age of seven under Ms. Madhavi Muthu and then under the Balgopal's in the Kalakshetra style at the India Fine Arts Society, Singapore. Under the guidence of her mother, Smt Nalini Menon, she started Mohiniattam and now is learning the style from Smt. Jayashree Mundkur. She has performed at many places in India and abroad.

Besides dance, she is an accomplished singer and has compleated her diploma in Carnatic music from the Adayar Music College. Further to this, she learnt music under Late Dr.S.Ramananthan at Kalapeetham Chennai and Smt Savitri
Satyamurthi. Was a regular artist at the Singapore Broadcasting Corporation ( SBC ) and has given performances on the
SBC. She has sung for TV serials and also for an album on Thirukkural. She was the lead singer for a childrens educational T V serial which wasn broadcast on Asianet for a period covering more than two years. Incidently, this TV serial " Chiragukal " has won two awards for the best children's film at state and national level.

She was a member of the Chinmaya Yuva Kendra and was the main singer in the bhajan cassettes that were realesed under this banner. Also a member of Pranavam Kalakrithi, a cultural organization, involved in choreography of classical, folk and contemporary dance forms.
